Utter Junk – Stay Away!
I bought this laptop cooling pad on 7/20/09. Initially it worked fine, aside from the fan being a little small for my liking.

Nice while it lasted…
I’ve owned this cooling pad for approximately three months. While it worked, the product did a decent job cooling my laptop (4/5 stars).

Spiffy device!
This thing is pretty cool — definitely gets the laptop up off of whatever surface you’re using (table, desk, lap, etc.

Not so good for MacBook Pro
The Belkin Cooling Stand looks great, but is ineffective. For my MacBook Pro (an older one, which runs very hot), it hardly drops the temperature at all.

Cooling Stand
It works well. The only con is that the laptop often slips off the stand due to the angle. If you don’t tilt the stand up, it doesn’t air out properly, if you do, it slides off.

When you get it home from the store or out of the UPS box, it starts right away, quiet as a mouse.

Waste of Money
I didn’t buy it with my own money, though I think it’s still a waste when there are probably better fans out there.

I've had the Belkin laptop stand for about two weeks now, and I've been pleasantly surprised at how effective it has been at channeling the heat away from my laptop. When I opened the box and examined the stand, I thought it looked too flimsy to do any good. Now, I find that I use it all the time. True, the flip-out part does little good and I don't use that, but even when I forget to plug in the fan, this stand still keeps my laptop cooler than before.

My laptop's temperature sensor also tells me that the stand is effective. Prior to getting the stand, the sensor ranged from 44 to 51 degrees (Celsius), depending on what I was doing. With the stand, and with the fan running, the temperature usually stays in the high 30s.

I wish Belkin had recessed the plug and provided a channel for the wire, because I occasionally get it tangled with the laptop power cord. But for the price, it's a good investment.

The product does keep the computer cooler and it’s a worthwhile purchase. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t always keep the computer steady.

Not So Great
I bought this item in a brick and mortar store simply because there weren’t many other options. On the plus side Belkin has made a fairly nice looking laptop cooler.
